Deploy Today:
We need drones .. We are losing the Drone Race.
I am not making any of this stuff up.. Check out the links for yourself.
What can drones be used for?
Firefighting
Crop surveillance
The War against Drugs
In .. 2011, .. American drones contributed to the seizure of 7,600 pounds of narcotics and 75 arrests
Border protection
An expensive way to patrol the borders?
http://securitydebrief.com/2011/02/02/predator-uav-costs-an-analysis-of-alternatives-that-needs-further-analysis/The unit cost for one Predator is about $4.5 million, according to DHS estimates. But the costs of operating a UAV can become more than double the costs of operating a manned aircraft, said the Congressional Research Service (CRS) last summer. (See Homeland Security: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Border Surveillance.)
Operating one UAV could take a crew of up to 20 Border Patrol agents, according to the CRS analysis. CBP’s Air and Marine Branch last fall pegged the per-hour cost of operating a Predator UAV for border surveillance at $3,234.
Based on that figure, keeping one UAV in the air every hour of the year would cost about $28.5 million.
The two 10,000-pound Predator-B unmanned aircraft based in Grand Forks, N.D., have a 950-mile coverage range
Food Delivery
We want our tacos hurled at us by giant buzzing robotic helicopters, and we want them now.
How Big are Drones?
Preparation for the future?
25 universities with engineering courses [domestic drone authorization, COA] are all in the USA at the moment.
Why not have courses in Canadian Universities? We need degrees in Spy Tech!
Currently this is viewed as a hobby in Canada.
Belleville would be a good place to introduce courses in Drone Piloting.. Wellington would be a good place for surveillance
of the late lamented "undefended border" . We could keep an eye out for American Boat People escaping from America
across Lake Ontario.
A Money Saving Plan:
A total of 138 aircraft, designated the CF-188 Hornet, were delivered to Canada from 1982 to 1988. Just think how much money could have been saved by using Model Planes?
F/A-18 could not even fly from Toronto to Montreal without carrying extra fuel.
57 of these planes have crashed since 1984 killing 7 pilots. This would never have happened if they had been flying Radio Controlled UAV'S.
Finally New Helicopters For the Canadian Forces
Though it's not cheap: each copter costs $9 million, it is a bargain compared to the alternatives.
Running costs would be about 50M$ per helicopter total.
Compare this with the current situation:
by 2010 it [yearly cost] had hit C$ 6.2 billion, when the cost of purchasing was added to 20 years of in-service support, training, and extra spending in order to keep the CH-124 Sea King fleet operational during project delays.
Looks like a savings of about 5.2 billion while running a fleet of 10 Radio Controlled Helicopters.
Drones for the police?
There are about 18000 police departments in the USA who presently lack drones, in fact only about 300 of them can afford helicopters.
Why can't Canada supply the USA with commercial drones. The Department of Homeland Security now owns 9 drones
Our Own Drone Manufacturer
Aeryon Labs Inc., based out of Waterloo, Ont., says it supplied one of its Aeryon Scout Micro UAV units to the Libyan Transitional National Council, to help rebels identify enemy locations.
The small device -- which looks like a toy helicopter, weighs about 1.3 kilograms and fits in a backpack or suitcase -- can fly into dangerous areas while shooting high-quality video that is beamed back in real-time, even to smartphones like BlackBerrys and iPhones.
The company also says the device is very easy to use and can be controlled via a map-based, touch-screen interface rather than using a joystick.
The device was delivered to Libya by the Ottawa-based private security firm Zariba Security Corporation, which conducted a day and a half of training before the rebels began using the drone.
After all they are just really radio controlled model airplanes!
Let's Get Permission First
Deploy your own drone by calling up a Canadian Company.
Just call: 613-883-8280
Zariba Security Corporation is a private security firm providing its clients with the goods & services they require to operate effectively in hostile environments. The company was founded in 2003 by a core group of British and Canadian security & intelligence professionals, and has its offices in Ottawa, Canada.
This should not be a concern. We have already lost that battle.
each of us is captured, on average, 300 times a day on CCTV
Anti Drone Artillery a new sport:
The target may be smaller, but the ammunition is cheaper too.
Canadian duck hunters could be awarded a bounty on all UAV'S that they can shoot down .
It could even be an open season like it is for crows.
Drones are easy to defend against even with something simple.
Most of the drones flying in the world could be shot down by some one in a crop duster with a couple of machine guns mounted to them.
How about high altitude silly string, or lengths of kevlar?
Spy On Americans?
Why should we when they publish everything?

Just capture a drone to copy it and extract secrets.
